481: Take the Role of the Backup Dancer Occasionally

Competing with your spouse to be the alpha all the time can be extremely challenging and detrimental to your relationship. After all, you and your spouse can’t possibly compete for alpha status in everything–it just doesn’t work that way. 

To maintain happiness in our relationship, we have found that it is essential to respect each other and understand our different roles in different situations. It is important to have a balance between taking the lead and taking a more supportive role. We’ll share some of the hurdles we’ve overcome and seen amongst our friend group to help you balance this dynamic in your relationship so that both parties feel confident in their role in any situation.
